Knot & Thread Patchwork Duffle Part 1/Day 1

In this class, you will learn to make the Duffle Bag by Knot & Thread Designs. You choose whether to make the larger or smaller bag, and you choose whether to make it patchwork or a whole cloth bag. In this section of the two day class, you will cut your fabric and learn to do walking foot quilting. The walking foot techniques that are taught are simple designs, some marked and some not, that will enable you to quilt other projects in the future. If you choose to make the patchwork option, you are kindly asked to have the patchwork grid made prior to class, that is designated in the pattern instructions. We will form the whole cloth, or patchwork, quilt sandwich in class with the Soft and Stable and then do the quilting. We will make the bag handles and do all the prep work to be ready for Part II where the bag will be constructed. This pattern gives you some fun design options in that you may choose to make a patchwork or solid bag, or to choose various coordinated fabrics for pockets, handles, bindings and zippers!
